Today Elephant Orphanage is a fast-growing sanctuary in Nairobi and is home to over 70 animals including elephants, rhinos, and giraffes. Every rescue at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is treated as an individual, with empathy and respect.
Rescued elephants, rhinos, and giraffes roam around free in large enclosures rather than isolated in a cage like most shelters. With our Elephant Orphanage visit, you'll have a chance to adopt rescued baby elephants.

VIEW ITINERARY
Drive to David Sheldrick Orphanage - an orphanage for Elephant and Rhinos Calves from all over Kenya from your hotel/ apartment or Airport. It was founded and is still managed by Daphne Sheldrick, the widow of the best known Game Warden, The young calves which are orphaned by poaching from various Parks are brought here and nursed until they are believed to be out of danger then released back to various parks to rejoin their colleagues. The visit is done during the feeding hours which fall between 11:00am to Noon every other day. Apart from the fee you pay to enter this place, you can humbly contribute to the trust to continue with the good work they are doing.
You will be driven back by your local guide to your pick up point or a place of your choice to end the tour.
