Half Day Kisumu- Kit Mikayi Tour

KISUMU TOUR

Kit Mikayi is the Kenya’s most dramatic archaeological site, a vast granite rock tower. The rock is situated in Kisumu district, Maseno division, East – Seme – location, Kit – Mikayi sub-location, Kangeso village, Kadol clan. Its about 70 to 80 ft tall. Located 1km from Kisumu Bondo road.

Kit Mikayi: What’s Inside

The legendary story is Kit Mikayi which in Luo dialect means “the stone of the first wife” is: Long time ago, there was an old man by the name Ngeso who was in great love with the stone. Every day he could wakes up in the morning, he used to walk into the cave and stay the whole day. His wife would bring him food every day. The old man became passionately in love with this stone hence the stone of the first wife (Kit Mikayi). There are so many mythological stories about this stone as told by the local curators on the ground.
